I received a letter from the IRS stating that I owe money because the info they got was not the same on my W2.?

I returned to the places that was doing my taxes and they realized that it was an error on their part. They filed an amendment for me and mailed it off. Now are they going to be held responsible or me? And if the money is taken out of my taxes can the IRS give it back to me and charge the tax service?
