Playstation 3 fix question?

Hii yall well heres my situation i have a 40 gig ps3 that got the yellow light of death i was wanting to know if its recomendable to fix it i found somebody who well fix it for 70 dollars i wanted to know if i fix it will it get the ylod again i tried buying the slim but i dont have that kind of cash right now i bought my ps3 in gamestop the one that bought the free spiderman movie in blue ray thanks i will give ten points who give me a good answer.
