Booking a hotel question?

Hi im 21 years of age and im Canadian im looking to go out of town for a few days to a job fair and im looking at hotels but the only problem is I dont own a credit card the only card I have is debit. I know to book hotels you need either a credit card or mastercard or visa so my question is can I get my parents to book it for me with their credit card? And if the answer is yes will i have to pay cash when I get to the hotel or how would it work?
