SHOULD I claim my sister on my taxes.?
She has been unemployed and living with me for all of 2010. She owes the IRS and the State of Minnesota back taxes from cashing out her retirement plan without having taxes withheld when she lost her job in 2007. If I claim her as a dependent, will I become responsible to repay her tax liability?
